Product Overview

In the current conventional application scenarios, multimode fiber is primarily used for temperature sensing. However, in certain special fields, such as situations where single-mode fiber has already been installed on-site and cannot be replaced, or when the length of the fiber exceeds 20 km, it may be considered to use a single-mode fiber temperature sensing host. Single-mode fiber has a core diameter of 9 μm, which is nearly 7 times smaller than the 62.5 μm core diameter of multimode fiber. This results in lower optical power capacity and a poorer signal-to-noise ratio. However, single-mode fiber has low loss and can propagate over long distances with minimal loss. In certain special environments, it offers significant advantages for temperature sensing by utilizing regular communication fiber cables.


Our company has independently developed the DTS-BLY-5S (SMV), which features low power consumption of as low as 6W, a three-proof motherboard (anti-fungus, moisture-proof, and salt spray-proof), a temperature sensing distance of over 24 km, a maximum of 16 channels, compatibility with fiber cables up to 400 km in length, a minimum temperature sensing size of ±0.5 meters, positioning accuracy of ±0.5 meters, and temperature accuracy of ±1°C (measured data). In the case of shorter distances, such as lengths ranging from 2 km to 5 km, the measured temperature accuracy can reach ±0.5°C. The DTS-BLY-5S (SMV) demonstrates a balanced performance in terms of temperature accuracy, positioning accuracy, and measurement distance under single-mode fiber temperature sensing conditions. It is suitable for direct measurement in single-mode fiber environments of communication cables, submarine cables, data centers, and other applications.
